Based near Tavistock in West Devon, Pegasus Horse Travel are able to provide horse transportation to all of the south west and most other parts of the U.K. Our aim is to offer a personal and caring service from yard to yard, ensuring your horse spends the minimal amount of time on the box.
We do not share loads unless by prior arrangement. However, should you wish to share to keep costs down, it may be possible to combine transporting your horse with someone else and doesn't always mean you'll have to share the box but just the cost (please see Tansport Charges for details). Our horse box is compact enough to reach the most inaccessible of places.
We are insured for public liability, care custody and control. We are covered in the event of a breakdown and we are DEFRA authorised for type 1 journeys (which is for journeys over 65km or 8 hours). We have a certificate of professional competence in the transport of horses. The driver has had 35 years of experience with horses.
Pegasus Horse Travel's Services
We can transport you and your horse to shows, (special rates for shows + added help if needed). Our aim is for you to enjoy your day, so we stay with your horse while you walk courses, sort out your entries or just want to relax and not worry what your equine is getting up to! Also lessons, dressage competitions, one day events, X country training, hunter trials, pony and riding club events, showjumping and winter shows and events, new purchases, vet visits, relocation, camps, moorland and beach rides, and take your mare to stud.
In fact, anything you want to do with your horse, we will try to accommodate you.
We can also transport foals, as the box can be completely shut off into a stable like compartment, so they can stand free, especially useful if they are not used to being tied. Also able to take mares with foals too.
